Product Development Coordinator

The role of the Product Development Coordinator is to serve as the liaison between vendors, designers, sales team and the Merchandising Department with relation to internal licensed development, research, product support and to assist the Product Development Department in achieving deadlines, sales and profit goals by performing the following duties:

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Maintain, organize and assist in research for PD materials library
  • Distribution and collection of internal forms to Designers, Vendors and Merchandising (Non-Discloser Agreements, New Designer Set-Up, Designer W-9, New Product Fact Sheets and New Vendor Questionnaires)
  • Assist Product Development Manager in researching new vendors and material sources
  • Oversee all inbound and outbound shipping requests and tracking to insure sample and testing deadlines are met
  • Delivery of product updates, issues and improvements to Merchandising and Operations
  • Liaise with Customer Support Team to resolve customer’s product issues and inquiries regarding maintenance and repair of product
  • Update internal sales software with product information including instructions, measurements, weight capacity, materials, etc
  • Answer inner department product questions that arise
  • Scheduling of cross-functional meetings, update critical dates calendar, and insure all key deadlines are being met 
  • Research special projects as necessary
  • Prototypes: inventory control, transfers, tagging/filing and archiving

 

REQUIRED:

  • 1-3 years of related, hands on expereince preferred
  • Degree in Industrial Design or a related field
  • A passion for design and keen product knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Project management skills
  • Strong knowledge of  Solidworks, Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign), MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
  • Must be detail oriented.  Accurate data is required
  • Excellent Organization Skills
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is required
  • Ability to interact effectively within PD team and other departments
